Group-IB, a leading creator of predictive cybersecurity technologies to investigate, prevent, and fight digital crime, today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan to cooperate in sharing information and expertise on digital threats, developing digital forensics and modern analytical methods, and ensuring information security across government and critical infrastructure sectors. The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation on cyber threat intelligence, cybercrime investigations, and joint education.
Under the MoU, Group-IB and the Ministry will exchange expertise on cyber threats, including information on the infrastructure and tactics used by threat actors, and will transfer knowledge in digital forensics, threat research and investigative techniques. That adversary-centric approach, which involves studying how threat actors operate in order to anticipate their next move, underpins Group-IB’s predictive threat and fraud intelligence, which the two parties will draw on for joint cyber incident analysis and cybercrime investigations affecting Uzbekistan’s e-Government ecosystem.
The agreement further commits both parties to raise cyber threat awareness across government and critical infrastructure, and to develop joint education, training, and professional certification programs in cybersecurity. It also provides for internship, practical placement, and student exchange programs, along with the establishment of joint cybersecurity laboratories and cyber ranges.
The MoU builds on Group-IB’s existing presence in Uzbekistan, where it operates a Digital Crime Resistance Center (DCRC) in Tashkent. The center is part of a global network of 11 DCRCs through which translates global threat intelligence into predictions and defenses calibrated to local infrastructure, fraud patterns, and jurisdictions.
The agreement also reflects Group-IB’s standing as a contributor to law enforcement operations worldwide. The company has conducted more than 1,600 high-tech cybercrime investigations since its inception, and regularly collaborates with international law enforcement agencies including INTERPOL, Europol, and AFRIPOL on operations to disrupt cybercriminal infrastructure.
