Mahmoud began his journey at Group-IB in 2023 as a Junior Analyst within the Digital Risk Protection (DRP) Department, focusing on the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa regions. Demonstrating exceptional performance and leadership potential, he was promoted in less than a year and is now a Senior Team Leader within the department.

Before joining Group-IB, Mahmoud worked as a Project Control Manager at Huawei for one year, followed by two years at Orange Business as a Senior Incident Management Specialist. His transition to Group-IB marked a significant step in his cybersecurity career, where he contributed to major process improvements and strengthened his expertise in digital risk protection.

Mahmoud has participated in key initiatives, including authoring several research reports such as “Ramadan-Related Scams” and “Shady Bets,” contributing to a public press release, and speaking at a technological conference at his previous organization.

His professional growth is supported by multiple certifications across technical and managerial domains, including Threat Hunting, CCNP, ITIL, AWS, and HCIA.
