Group-IB signs partnership agreement with Ingram Micro covering Italian market

Group-IB, a global cybersecurity leader headquartered in Singapore, has concluded a partnership agreement with the Italian division of Ingram Micro, the world’s leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services. This partnership creates a pathway for Ingram Micro to offer Group-IB’s full stack of sector-leading cybersecurity solutions, developed in step with the company’s two decades of experience of investigating and preventing cyberattacks, online fraud, and intellectual property violations, to organizations in the Italian market.

This agreement further strengthens the long-standing relationship between Group-IB and Ingram Micro’s cybersecurity business unit. Prior to this new partnership covering Italy, Ingram Micro already served as an official Group-IB distributor in Poland, France, India, Indonesia, and several other major markets. Building on this shared history, Ingram Micro’s vast knowledge of the local channel landscape will help scale Group-IB’s brand visibility and positioning in Italy, a go-to market for the company. Ingram Micro Italy’s expertise in the local market, coupled with its extensive infrastructure, advanced digital platform, and specialty technology solutions empowers technology businesses to grow faster.

Italy is one of the most affected countries by cybercrime in Europe. In the latest edition of the annual Hi-Tech Crime Trends report, Group-IB experts discovered that 124 of the 852 European companies that had confidential information published on dedicated link sites in H2 2021 – H1 2022 following ransomware attacks were Italian, the third-most on the continent. This figure represents a 36% year-on-year increase. Among the 124 Italian firms that suffered ransomware-related data leaks were 26 manufacturing firms, nine transportation companies, and seven government and military organizations. Group-IB researchers also noted the growing proliferation of information stealers in Italy as well as in Europe more broadly. Between H2 2021 and H1 2022, Group-IB Threat Intelligence detected 580,301 unique compromised accounts belonging to Italian internet users.

As partners, Ingram Micro will be able to offer its wide network of resellers in Italy access to the full Group-IB stack, including Threat Intelligence, Managed XDR, and Attack Surface Management, while also enhancing the local capabilities of these cybersecurity solutions for the Italian market. Group-IB’s Threat Intelligence system has been named one of the best in its class by Gartner, Forrester, and IDC. Group-IB’s Managed XDR, has been recognized as one of the market leaders in the Network Detection and Response category by KuppingerCole Analysts AG, and Group-IB Fraud Protection was recently named the most complete anti-fraud solution on the market by Frost & Sullivan.

“We at Group-IB are delighted to sign this agreement with Ingram Micro Italy. We feel that this partnership will have an exponential impact on Group-IB’s footprint in Italy, an exciting market that has significant growth potential. Ingram Micro has a proven track record of adding value for its partners, and we look forward to seeing significant development in our local channel activities in this core market.”
