A criminal group, acting since 2015, creates copies of online pharmacies’ websites, duplicating legitimate information completely except for contact details. Then a fake website is promoted using spam emails and targeted ads. Criminals then lure visitors of these resources into paying for the supply of drugs and then immediately disappear.
Cyber-fraudsters mislead clients from official resources, and can seriously damage reputation of legitimate online pharmacies, forcing them to manage complaints of potential customers.
In addition to standard services of website detection and blockage, CERT-GIB has competencies to identify website owners, and in some cases block not only the site, but also the telephone number and e-mail used to commit fraud.
